Blah blah, how is it May already, blah blah.

I have actually been trying out a number of new products this month, which never happens with me. I’ve found so many things I love and that will become permanent features in my life over the past few weeks, so just sit back and enjoy an actually fulfilling favourites post from me. You may not see it again in this lifetime.

First up is a thing that set me back a pretty penny, but it was actually worth it. Last month I invested in a new camera – Olympus Pen E-PL7 – so it only seemed fitting that the month after, I invested in a new lens. But not just any lens. The holy grail 45mm lens. The only teeny tiny, miniscule little issue I’m having with it is that it’s not silver. It’s black. My camera is white. The perfectionist in me cannot handle having a lens that doesn’t match the body, but until Olympus want to add me to their PR list or something along those lines, I’m stuck with it. It doesn’t affect the performance at all so it’s just me being picky – I fully reviewed the lens AND the camera in a post which you can find HERE

I feel like so many people complained about this months Glossybox, but I actually really loved it. Lots of skincare bits and a coffee scrub. I have been desperate to try out a coffee scrub for such a long time, but just never got around to buying one. Good thing I held off! This one is an avocado and aloe vera scrub by Scrub Love – I was a tad unsure about the smell at first but now I actually really like it and I use it every single time I shower. I shave first, then scrub, and if I decide to go all out and moisturise after I get out of the shower, my skin is like baby fresh out the womb soft. The only bit that really sucks is cleaning the shower afterwards. But it’s so worth it.

Winged eyeliner is my worst enemy; I hate it and it appears to hate me too because it never ends up looking nice. Recently I’ve been trying to practise a lot more, with moderate success, thanks to the best eyeliner I think I’ve ever used. I prefer pens over any other kind of eyeliners, I find them easiest to hold and manouver. My issue was that I could not find one that stayed black throughout the whole day and didn’t smudge across my whole eyelid – enter Soap & Glory’s supercat liner. I have tried a fair few from different brands but I always come back to this. It’s quite a thick tip, but it’s easy enough to draw thin lines as well. Basically, it’s perfect and I may never use another eyeliner pen for as long as I live.

I’ve been testing out a few new skincare bits these past few weeks, with incredible results. I actually wrote a full post on The Body Shop Drops of Light bits I’ve been trying, which you can find HERE, but I couldn’t not include my favourite in my favourites. For obvious reasons. The liquid peel, which I use every few days at night time, has completely changed my skin and I’ll never look back now. Check out the post for the full details, but basically my skin feels as though it’s been completely resurfaced and makeup looks a billion times better than it used to. A real holy grail product.

A brand I used to always see but never tried was Kiehls. I’ve heard so many people rave about it and it wasn’t until recently that I understood why. I found a little Kiehls section in the duty free at the airport and because I can’t seem to stop spending money, I bought things. I’m working on a post on the products I got so I won’t go into too much detail but the Ultra Facial Cream has pretty much fixed the dry patch I’ve had on my nose since forever. You only need a tiny bit to cover your whole face and it’s the best moisturiser I’ve ever used, so it’s 100% worth the money.

So there we have it, an actually satisfactory favourites post! I think both myself and my blog feel better because of the content that I’ve gotten out of spending all my money. So it wasn’t all for nothing.

What have you been loving this month?
