I was a little unsure about doing this post at first, because fashion posts are my least favourite to do due to my horrifically unnatural posing and lack of any talent in fashion whatsoever, but y’know what, I just decided to go for it because it’s a good idea.
I spend a lot of money, definitely more than I should, but over the past month or so I’ve tried to focus my searches on the sale section to see what bargains I can pick up, with moderate success. I thought I’d compile a little selection of some of my favourite items that I picked up in the sales this year, almost all of which are unfortunately now out of stock.
As I mentioned in my Autumnal jumpers post
, I’d been looking around for some jumper dresses for a little while, and struck gold on ASOS and in Primark. All of them have roll necks, all of them are super cosy, and all of them are relatively inexpensive. The burgundy and dark grey are from ASOS, they were both £15 which I think is not bad for a good quality jumper dress. I like wearing tights and boots, but I also like wearing jumpers, so now I can combine the two and be stylish and happy and warm. The Primark one is a bit of a nightmare to get on and off, I have to take my makeup off before I take it off unless I want it smeared all over my face and the neck of my dress, but it was £5 so I’m trying not to complain too much. It’s quite oversized in terms of the body of the dress so I usually wear a belt with it. It was such a bargain dress and I’m so happy that my mother pointed it out to me.
Sticking with the dresses, I purchased these 2 from Missguided for next to nothing. I’ve been massively obsessed with yellow for months now so when I saw this yellow slouchy dress, I bought it straight away. I’m struggling to wear it right now because of my red hair but I’m making it work somehow, I have faith in myself. I’m sure this was something ridiculous like £6 or something, literally nothing and I couldn’t leave it. I’d been eyeing up this boho white dress for a little while, but I just kept putting off buying it until I saw the yellow dress and I just thought, “okay, I’ll go for it.” I love how casual but dressy this can be, and it’s not the unflattering kind of swing dress. Plus, it was £12.
I know I said in a previous post that I was straying from darker Autumnal colours, but it turns out I’ve gone right back to them. I was browsing on New Look not too long ago and came across this beautiful £15 burgundy duster coat, and I’m completely obsessed with it. I feel like burgundy really suits me and since the weather has been a little weird recently and not been warm or cold, it’s been perfect to just throw on over a jumper. It’s more of a casual coat and I think you could wear it as more of a cardigan/kimono type thing as well. I also clocked these burgundy trousers for £13, but wasn’t sure what size would fit me, so I ran up to the store and thankfully they had a 6 and an 8 for me to try on. I love these trousers so much, they’re perfect for Autumn and they were such a bargain.
H&M were on the ball with their sale for this season, they had a 3 for 2 offer on all their sale items so I was able to pick up 2 jumpers and get something for my little sister for free. My favourite is the grey one, I also mentioned it in my jumpers post
but I really honestly just love it so much. It’s perfectly slouchy and looks so good tucked into some jeans. I also bought it in black, and they were both £7 so it was perfect. I haven’t bought a lot of black clothes recently because I used to wear black a lot and I’ve been trying to experiment with some different colours, but I just think you can’t go wrong with a simple, black jumper. Just in case.
